crown molding

I have asked before & no one has responded. I still want to know if it is appropriate to use painted (white) crown in a house with stained base & door trim.  Thanks

Re: crown molding

I have not seen it done that way.  It has probably been done but it is not common.

Re: crown molding

I have done this throughout my house, and I think you will find that pretty common in old houses.  I actually think it looks better as wood crown looks funny hanging out up there all by itself.  With paint it gives you some detail, but doesn't stick out.  So, my answer is, go for it!!

Cheerio!
