Ok this section 2 of the sketchup tutorial.
First load the program then bring up the table saved in the last session. Using the orbit and zoom tools, orient the model similar to the first picture. Then click on the tape measure tool and click somewhere along the top edge of the table, move the tool down the edge until the small box in the lower right reads 1 inch, or just enter 1 and hit enter. This will place a guide line on the side of the table.
Next re-orient the picture so that it looks like the second picture. Use zoom and orbit.
Using the line tool click on the guide line and draw the line shown in the picture.
You can now click edit delete guides and the guideline will dissappear
Click on the push/pull tool and then on the table side (below the top). Now push the side in a quarter of an inch. (Remember you can enter .25 in the little box on the right.)
Follow the same procedure on each of the four sides
That is the end of section two. If your table looks like this save it. If not, you screwed up, try again, or ask a question.
