Pocket hole table

This I thought was kind of an interesting project.  I recently saw it on one of the woodworking TV shows.

It is not finished yet.  It just uses pocket holes for joinery.  It will have a tile top and slatted shelves.

I thought I would post a sort of DIP (drawing in progress) picture.

Re: Pocket hole table

This is the completed table. If there is any interest I'll blow it up and show some detail.

[ Edited ]

There was a trick that they used where the two pieces were put together for the legs that I thought was clever.  They used a rabbit at the corner to make the two sides look equal visually.  Then the chamfer down the corner makes the seam virtually disappear.

I think that is a trick that I will keep in mind for other projects.

Re: Pocket hole table

That looks like it would make a nice patio side table. What was the original designed for?

Re: Pocket hole table

That's exactly correct they just called it an outdoor table.

Mine will be made of some left over cypress from some chairs that I made a while back.  I think I should have enough for at least two tables.

Re: Pocket hole table

These are a couple of poorly lighted shots of my little cypress pocket hole table.  It took me a while to get started but it was surprising how quickly it went together.
