Good looking cabinets. I love Sketchup, so much software,so much to draw, so little time!!! Keep up the good work George.     Dennis

Re: Drawing Kitchen cabinets

George, I believe I'm the guy who asked about the CAD software for kitchen cabinets.  Sorry, been out of pocket for awhile and just getting caught up...

My job as a contractor for the military keeps me quite busy...that's why I was looking for something to quicken the planning process-I spend a bit of time away from home...

I was able to find some programs online that allowed me to "sample" draw (play around with) but found none to my liking. As you said, some are on a high learning curve, and very expensive. Didn't find "Sketchup" though

I think I'm just going to resort to dusting off my old drafting implements and hit the veritable drawing board. I appreciate the assist from you and input from the others.

Re: Drawing Kitchen cabinets

What do you mean, you didn't find sketchup, what have we been talking about here?

It's free, doesn't cost a dime, you never know with a little practice.......  If you travel a lot it would give you something to do while sitting around motel rooms in the evenings.

Good luck to you,

Re: Drawing Kitchen cabinets

George, yesterday was the first time I had the chance to access this thread so that's why I wasn't aware of sketchup.

I have a trip to AZ tomorrow, I'll take you up on your advice and research sketchup then. Who knows, I might like it..

Thx

Re: Drawing Kitchen cabinets

Hello GG,

I've been off sick a few days so haven't gotten enough energy to answer you until now.  I like your technique.  A year or so ago I put together the instructions to do basically what you have done for my cabinet maker friend.  He really liked it but still resists learning SU.  There are folks out there that just aren't tuned in.  Don't know what to try that would turn him around.

Thanks for your efforts and keep on keeping on.

Re: Drawing Kitchen cabinets

George, great looking cabinets. I've been toying with the idea of trying to draw some new cabinets for our kitchen( if there ever was a kitchen that needs new ones, its ours!). I know there guide lines on dimensions for a typical kitchen but don't know where to get them. Any ideas? By dimensions I mean hight, depth, distance between lower and upper, room to leave for a stove/fridge. Thanks for the drawings.
