Re: Winged bowls

Your certainly accomplished more this morning than I did.  I fitted a tool handle to an old garden tool, ripped a glued up a board to match an antique shelf I have to match.   Worked on an idea that unfortunately isn't really going to work for what I had planned but will work for something else with a little fine tuning.    Fixed the car door and now I'm going to work on the shop door lock that has somehow decided to quit working.   I think I'll take the afternoon off and go for a bicycle ride than my son and I will go see Captain America.

Re: Winged bowls

Those are some nice wings.  I am going to guess at the wood.  It looks like a wood I enjoy turning, Poplar.  I spent the weekend working on things that needed done at my house mom's house and a friend's house. There is more to do but I quit because of the heat.

[ Edited ]

It is actually a walnut limb, I just don't put any finish on some of the NE type bowls. Someone I sell them to may want to sand and finsh them, but I don't.

Very nice. What method did you use to hold the blanks while you were turning.
