Recently I have had to put screws places I couldn't hold them, so I put a couple of small rare earth magnets on the end of the bit to hold the screw.

Works great for up and down to.

Great tip...I just wish they had a magnet for brass screws

What works for brass phillips screws is glue stick, like the kind you get at office supplies.   Sick the tip into it and let dry for a while.  This works for some time before having to renew the glue.   We used this on electrical terminal blocks which had all brass screws.    Roly

when I was working I used bees wax put the head of the screw in the wax and stick it on the screwdriver it worked great

Very nice. I guess the magnet doesn't need to be physically close to the tip to do this job.

(BTW: What is that pair of pliers covering up???)
