Woodie,
Are you serious that PC jig will not take 1/2" shank bits?
Do you need to use guide bushings on that jig?
Can you return the bit?
Tony

Same question I had Tony, I got the PC jig and it came with a half inch shank dovetail bit. Can you elaborate woodie?

In the matter involving the PC dovetail guide - You have to keep in mind that the shank of the router bit you use might also have to fit inside a template bushing. Let's say you have a 1/2" shank dovetail bit, and you need to use a 7/16" template bushing to use the jig, can you see where you might have a problem? Something I will have to remember to keep in mind prior to a new project. I usually invest in 1/2" shanks myself and I can see where I might want to check my existing bits before starting the project.

You may also run across 8mm router bits. They are the European standard and some are floating around the U.S. Some router manufacturers are offering 8mm collets for their machines.

it is an old model, and I am sure that it will not accept a 1/2" bit. I wonder if I can get a replacement plate that will? I doubt it though.
