For Jimmie Carter and anyone else looking for old planes.
Actually last week was the time for this guys sale but I wasn't
here to tell anyone .
He has this old tool sale once a year in Garland, Tx and has
had it for 26 years or so. And I think a few more guys have joined
in the sale also. After thinking about the amount of
years I might be all wrong but I do remember it has been going
on for a long long time.
Nothing but lots and lots of old tools and there must have
been 100 planes or more and tools you ain't never seen before.
About the only place I could find it advertised was on Craigs List
and it appeared on Nov. 13th. There was a www site to visit but
now checking Craigs List all I can find on that date is 2 pictures
of that sale.
For anyone collecting you need to find this sale next year.
I might can find his name and address if I look hard enough if
anyone is interested.
Jess

Hey, I haven't been on much lately, I waited for things to get sorted out, cookies to cook and things to align and things look better here now, so I'll visit more often. As my post # over there reflects, I am a relative newcomer here ;-]
I'm wondering where "old tools & machinery" will fall in here on the topics list? Keeping it on the "off topic" page is O.K. with me, just wondering what you may know or have read re that subject? Old planes, I do like them myself and have just sent a pair of #7s off to be rejappaned. I'm currently working on a #5 that shows a lot of promise.

Hey, guys.
I scooted this from the OT board to the TOOLS board - where this kind of thing now should live. Old tools, new tools, broken tools, whatsit's... it's all good and it's all for the Tools board now.
Have a good'un.
Best,

Absolutely, we do tools, all tools. I have been to the Two Old Grouches tool sale in Garland a few times. They generally do it a couple of times a year.
