Re: Ooops, my bad

[ Edited ]

It's gonna be real cozy in my garage and the G0490 won't feel lonely.  I may have to install an elevated walkway just to get around, though.  What you can't see in these photos are the bench top drill press, disk/belt sander, scroll saw, DW734 planer, and plywood cart.  All on their own mobile bases.  Oh, yeah, there's a lawn mower and snow blower in there, as well.  And I can still get the wife's Trailblazer in when I move the "shop" out of the way.

Re: Ooops, my bad

Nice jointer, John.  But....yeah....that short piece of 4" pipe looks kinda funny on there.  :smileyhappy:

Good to see I'm not the only one in a cozy shop.  I've got two cars stuffed in mine most of the time so I need to get creative.  Right now I'm proceeding with some basement renos so I need to move a few hundred bf of wood from there into my shop.  Hard to find the space....

Re: Ooops, my bad

The only way I got more space in my garage "shop" was to buy a GMC 3500 dually!  Can't park it in the garage with the wife's vehicle in there, so now there's just hers in there.  Gave me the whole other side to play with although I still have to keep everything mobile.  I just don't have to scrunch everything into the corner anymore.  Tomorrow I'll be doing some floorplan rearranging to see if I can make things a bit more efficient when going from garage to shop mode.

Re: Ooops, my bad

I never ever clutter up the garage with a vehicle.:smileyhappy:

We have lived in the current house for 9 years and have never had a vehicle in our double garage. I also have a dedicated WW shop, the garage is full of wood, bikes, wood, snowmobiles, wood, welders, wood, mechanical bench/tools wood and more wood:smileywink:

Re: Ooops, my bad

When I'm working on a larger project, I usually leave the garage in shop mode overnight until I'm done with the bigger tools.  Being an on-call FF, sometimes there just isn't time to clean off my vehicle in the middle of the night.  Once I decide to give that up...BWAAHHAAHAAA...the garage will be mine...all mine.  So long as I make sure the wife's car is cleaned off before she wants to use it...

Yeah...my wife's car must be clean all the time.  I can dump it outside on occasion, but then I get to wash it again.  The other car is mine.  It likes the garage.  Silly car.  :smileyhappy:

It sounds like Paladin has the right setup.  :smileywink:

Re: Ooops, my bad

Nothing like hind sight :smileysad:  If I had been as interested in woodworking, RV'ing, and a few other things as I am now, I would have bought a house with some property around it when we moved up here.  Or at least modified the current design into a three-car garage and an extended driveway behind the house.  Oh well, I make do with what I got.

On another note, related to the G0490, I want to commend Grizzly Customer Service.  I mentioned that one of my blades was nicked and they offered to send me a new set.  I know I heard the part number on the phone, but it didn't register that it was the wrong one until I got the confirmation e-mail.  I sent them an e-mail on Saturday and got a reply this morning that they would ship the correct ones and provide a UPS shipper to send the others back.  What do you know, a company that actually reads their e-mails.
