Tools and Tool Buying

I'm considering purchasing this saw.  It is at Lowes for $599.00.  Anyone have experience with this saw or know where I might find it at a better price?  Thanks, bob.

I actually have 2 of them.  I think they're great as far as accuracy and ease of use.  DC is tough on all miter saws but you can set them up to collect most of it.   Don't really know of better pricing anywhere.

Bob - HD and other major stores usually have price matching policies.  If you can bring in proof of the Lowe's price, take it to HD or Sears, they'll likely beat the price...I believe HD's policy is 10%.  Also, Lowes will honor competitor's coupons...if you can find a Sears or HD coupon for % off, or $ off, they'll usually honor the discount.  You might even try a Harbor Freight coupon if there's a store near you....worse they can do is say "no" and call you names....odds are good they'll skip the name calling!

I have had my Dewalt 12" SCMS for about 7 years now and love it. If I was buying today I would also be looking at the Makita as well.

As for price, most places will be similar, but if you buy it through Amazon it is $599 and comes with free shipping and no sales tax to most states which for me here in So. California that's about a $50 savings. Plus the driver of the big brown truck will deliver it to your door.
