Geeze, I haven't been on in a short spell and I come back to yet another forum system. Guess I will have to learn to navigate all over again! I signed in, so why does it list me as a new visitor? I have been part of this forum for years.

Hey, Myron. Good to see you 'round the place again.
The 'new visitor' monicker is courtesy of the new software system. It promotes you based on either how many posts you visit or how many replies you write. Even just browsing around the place a lot will advance your standing.
And it doesn't actually mean anything - it's really just an arbitrary ranking name that the new software provider has. In another forum that I visit, dealiing with shooting, I'll be a Private for another five posts, then go to Corporal, etc., and there's a lot of Sergeants and Lieutennants around there. So the ranking concept is somewhat common these days on various forum boards.

Thanks Matt! Another question is why are things so slow from one page to another? I have DSL and am using IE 8. Never had problems here with speed until now. Is there a solution? Also why isn't my tag being added when I post?

Today things are a bit pokey. I reported that this morning.
As for your old settings - they're essentially history. The old software was provided by different software provider than this new system. Since we're now on new servers all of the old stuff is gone and doesn't transfer over (the two sets of computer servers, owned by two unrelated software companies, aren't linked and don't talk between them).
Go to the Help forum, at the top of the list of forum boards, and you'll find a raft of tutorials for how to adjust your settings to get what you want to get.
