Many years ago my business partner and I are doing a re-pipe in a crawl space and he notices that I'm sweating pipes from the one closest to me and working my way forward.  He tells me that I should be working backwards so I don't burn myself... yeah whatever..... fast forward today I'm doing some plumbing and as I reach in to a gaggle of already sweated pipes I get a 3/4" wide x 3" long burn on my forearm.  This ones going to scar in a big way.  So there you go guys, from me to you, work your way out of the gaggle of pipes when sweating them.... or use Pex

I learned a long time ago sweat as much as you can OUTSIDE the crawl space.

Cuts down on burning beams, burns on skin, insulation flares, and time in the crawl space.

Yep, been there, done that, more than once!!!

That's what I hate ... getting a flash burn and then doing a slow burn about it for days!!

hand, arm, leg, T-shirts, scorch marks on beams.

And I always make sure the spray water bottle is filled!!!!
