We have purchased a Pegasus granite sink, and I am not sure what to use to seal the drain strainers. Plumbers putty is not to be used on granite from what I've read, and silicon cleanup is with mineral spirits. Jerry!

The warning on plumber's putty is directed at solid granite surfaces, where the oils in the putty can be absorbed in the granite surface and discolor it. The Pegasus sink is a composite of epoxy resin with granite dust. It is impervious to almost everything. You can use plumber's putty or silicone to set the drain. If your counter top is solid granite, don't use plumber's putty to set the faucet.

We have a granite composite sink and absolutly love it. So much quieter with dishes/pot & pans banging around than steel or porcelain. Like was said above, you can use plumbers putty with no problems.
