Re: Entry Bridge

Thanks John, now I didn't rush into this, I hated the old flat bridge, that you can see on the right, for 14 years. I was so easy that i wished I had not waited.  I built the undercarrige in my shop then hauled it up to the house in my truck.

Re: Entry Bridge

Hey Dave,

What a neat looking bridge, and I like the pavers both before and after the bridge.  Also that is a great picture.:smileywink:

Re: Entry Bridge

small with rope 2.JPGThanks Ralph, It was easy, surprisingly so.  I have a ton of in process pics because I thought it was going to be a bear.  cutting the arch was the hardest part of the whole thing, due to existing structure I had a couple of fixed points for support. I faired the curve with a piece of 3/4 pvc pipe that I strung like a bow to hit the 3 points of interest.  here is another angle.

bridge.JPGI sold some timber frame tools to a timber framer in Sweden.  He sent me some pictures of some cool things he had built, including a couple of bridges.023_20a.jpg

Re: Entry Bridge

Only when it rains, it is normally a dry run.  My younger son indicated that he may have some pond liner and a pump so who knows what the future may bring.
