A few years ago, an insurance company sent me a free plastic battery desk clock. I never used it and was about to toss it when I got an idea. Why not use the movement and make a good looking clock out of it? I used some scrap pieces of spalted apple, yellow Hart, Walnut and Bloodwood. This was a great way to recycle the plastic clock and use up some of those beautiful wood pieces. It is about 8" long and 4" high.

Wow Ron, I really like that. Would you have an objection if I copied your general idea there? That is a nice piece and would make a really nice gift for someone who had "done a good deed or service.
Very nice.

Ed, go right ahead. Just let your imagination take over. Make it your size and your clock, if your wife will let you keep it :smileyvery-happy

That's a mighty fine clock, Ron :-))
Are you going to add numbers or this is it?

Tony, if I add anything, it will be small wood pieces at the hours. No numbers. I want you to see the wood first, then the time. I think numbers would distract from the beauty of the wood. The only other thing I may change is the color of the hands, they came as is............silver. I think brown would be better.

I think it's great just the way it is. Nice job.

Yes, Ron, that will work even better and look better too.
Haven't seen brown hands but black may do also.
Go for it :-))
