building a couple special boxes out of Cocobola. Not sure what glue to use. Has anyone had experience with glueing this wood?? I'm pretty sure I will have to clean joints with acetone to get the oil off. Looking at 45 minute epoxy now but not sure what works. Would rather use something easier to work with.

You could use a light wash coat of shellac, a 1/2# cut and it will seal in the oil. Then you could use regular yellow glue.

Sealing in the oil with shellac is not a reasonable option. The shellac would prevent the glue from bonding strongly. This will not work.

I used cocobola for a jewelry box from a Wood plan and had no problems. As I remember I did not clean surfaces before glueing, But you can clean with acetone immediatly before glueing (allow to dry well before glue). As for the type of glue I used Titebond II and have had no problem .
