I was just reading the responses to "How do you set up your table saw fence?"
How does WOOD set their table saw fences, Marlen?

Larry,
Sounds like many are on the same page here, however keep this in mind. Before lining up the fence you must make sure that your blade is parallel with the miter-guage slot. If this is ok then you can set-up the fence. If not you will need to slightly loosen the trunnion bolts or the table-top on a cabinet saw and move until the blade aligns with the miter-guage slot. Attach a dial indicator to your miter guage and then mark one tooth on your blade, check it on the infeed side and then rotate the blade back and slide the miter guage forward to check the same tooth in the aft position. When you get that squared away move on to the fence.
We use the same dial indicator mounted to a wood block that fits snuggly in the miter-guage slot. Slide the indicator back and forth in the miter-guage slot checking the fence at both the infeed and outfeed side and adjust as needed. You either want it dead-on or with a slight toe away from the blade (no more than 2 thousandths). As stated by many this is a personal preference.

I know that Jim Heavey sets up his fence with the back end trailing away the thickness of a dollar bill. I did that on my saw and noticed an improvement....

I have a neighbor that was having trouble with his CrCrCrKmart special. I set the blade to the left mitre slot and the fence to the right slot. The sucker bound up on the wood and kicked it back at us. I found that the slots were toed in over 1/8" on the back side. I set every thing to the right slot and presto. Seems to be working ok now. Makes you wonder about their quality control people. It still makes me cringe every time I see the fence near the right slot.
