Ryobi Bench top planer

My friend has a Ryobi bench top planer, he say's it is planning uneven, it looks like the drum is angled to one side, he claims that the knives are all properly seated.  As I am unfamiliar with this planer, and the owner's manual is of no help, can anyone tell us what might be wrong and how this can be corrected?

Thank you,

Re: Ryobi Bench top planer

I had a similar problem with my Dewalt planer. What I finally figured out was that the screws that raise and lower the blades had somehow gotten out of alignment. I just measured and adjusted each side until they were equal. I was also having a little resistance as I would try to raise and lower the blades before I did the adjustment.

When I say blades I mean the whole center mechanism.
