Round One Changes

As per last night's update, we moved the static copy from the left side of the page to the right and fixed the ad so it no longer overlaps the right-hand side of the top posts. We a couple of other items listed for updates in the next few weeks. Please note, we just went live with the new system this past Thursday, it will take a few updates to get all the bugs worked out of the new system. Thanks for your patience. Marlen @ WOOD

Re: Round One Changes

Well everything you moved is right over the last post column. I can't read either column and have about 6" blank space on the right side. Using IE 8

I'm not complaining, just letting you know what is happening. Hoping for help if it is on my end.

I am beginning to like the new forum, just hard for an old coot to make so many changes all at once.

My forgetter's getting better, But my rememberer is broke. ______________________

Re: Round One Changes

Mike, I'm not following your description of the error. Do you have any way to show or send me a screen shot image of what you're seeing?

Re: Round One Changes

WoodMagScreenEverything has moved to the left on my screen too and I can't click anything on the left. I'm using IE 6 SP3.

See screen shot.

Re: Round One Changes

[ Edited ]

I don't know how to capture a screen as posted above.

Trying to explain as best I can, under the add, which has always been running over the latest post, there is under that announcements, top kudoed post, top tags, top taggers, etc. This is all overlaying the latest post. On general woodworking all I can see of the column Latest post is Late. The rest is covered all way down the page with this overlaying of the items that were previously on the left side of the page. This problem is not as bad on other forums like home improvements, turning, etc. They only overlap the last post if there is a lot of text in the side. WHERE IS THE TOTALLY CONFUSED SMILEY!?

Re: Round One Changes

To capture a screen like this you'll want to spot two keys on your keyboard.   One is the SHIFT key, the other is the PRINT SCREEN key, which is often hiding up to the right, sort of above and maybe to the left of the numeric keys on your keyboard.

Here's the process:

1.  Posture the screen like you want, showing the problem, and then hit the SHIFT and PRINT SCREEN keys together.

2.  email this as an attachment to Matt Snyder at  Matt.Snyder@meredith.com    Right -click in the field of your email and a dialog box will come up.  Hit "PASTE" and your image will be inserted into the email.

You could also save it as an image file and then upload it here, as was done above.   But the email thing is probably faster and easier.
