IN CASE YOU HADN'T NOTICED;

[ Edited ]

Greene and Greene Bathroom CabinetGood Morning Friends,

In case you hadn't noticed on the left margin it states that the A&C, Dust Collection, Scrollsawing, Shop Showplace, Woodworking Plans, Wood Working Woods and Woodturning are now all in the General Woodworking forum. So fellows lets have some fun and I'll start off with Arts and Crafts. Here is a cabinet I shipped to Pomona CA for a client. As you can see I was even able to place it on the left side so you could look at it with out having to jump back and forth or up and down as you read along about it. I made it in the Greene and Greene style. I was able to find the oriental hinges and pull to really set it off. The splines and plugs are not real ebony but, instead black walnut stained with black liquid shoe polish to make them look like ebony.

I hope you like it and now how about dust collection? Anyone wish to talk about your dust collecting?

Remember to keep your hands no closer to a spinning blade or bit than 6" for safety sake.

Respectfully,

And here again, TAGGING the Arts&Crafts projects allows one to find all 5 currently tagged.

Nice job Ralph. Wish I had TIME to make furniture.

Re: IN CASE YOU HADN'T NOTICED;

Very nice, Ralph.  One of these days I'll get some time to make something like that rather then the utilitarian "carpentry" projects I usually end up making.  Last up was a set of wooden ramps for my car trailer.  The dust collection at my SCMS sure came in handy though!  (to be on topic)  ha, ha!

For those of you that missed it, one of the first threads in this forum contains examples of some dust collection hoods I've made for my tools to help capture more dust so I can breathe easier in my shop.  If you're looking to keep the shop air a little cleaner, check it out.

Cheers,

Very nice piece Ralph. It looks like it will last forever. Good color. It may be my eyes or the angle of the picture but the two ebony buttons on the bottom of the door and the bottom of the cabinet look like they are not the same (or are not level). They look different distance from the bottom piece of the door and cabinet. I'm sure that can't be true.

Unfortunatly the left side of the screen isn't visable for some of us. I think they are working on the problem at wood.  So what ever is written on the left side of the screen is unknown.  Maybe they should put it on the right side. Plenty of room there :smileywink:

Ralph...VERY NICELY DONE!!!!  I'm sure whoever you sent that too had no idea it was going to turn out that nice unless they'd seen your work before.
