Did you know that you have the ability to send PRIVATE, Not-public messages back and forth between members?

You can click on anybody's name and you'll be taken to their personal page.

In the upper left side of the page, below their avatar, you'll see a column called "CONTACT".   In that box you'll see an option to 'Send This User A Private Message".

Then away you go.   The correspondence will only be able to be seen by you and the person you private message.

• BUT WAIT... THERE'S MORE!

Do you need to easily find the person you want to PM, but don't want to have to search through the forums looking for a post that they replied to?     At the upper right side of this page you'll see a search function that defaults to the word "BOARD".   Use the drop-down option and change 'Board" to 'Users".   Then click 'SEARCH'.

You now have the ability to search all of the registered users on the site.  Pick the person you want to PM and then you're good to go.

That's good!!  Now how does one navigate to the Private Message inbox or is the message sent to the registered home email address?

Message notification can happen in two different ways.

The first is found on this site.  In the upper right-hand corner of the page you'll see a sort of an envelope-looking icon with a number in parenthesis next to it.  This is the count of how many messages are in your inbox.

To retrieve the messages you'll click on that icon and you'll be brought to your personal messaging page.

If you'd like email notifications that you've got messages, then you need to go to MY SETTINGS (upper left side of the page), and then go to PREFERENCES, and under that, to the right, you'll see PRIVATE MESSENGER.    On that page you'll see a check box that indicates that you'd like to be notified by email when a private message comes in.

You will still need to come here, to the Wood Online pages to pick up the message.   Again - click on the message icon in the upper right hand side of the page to easily get to your personal private messenging page.
